Ms. Backe's third grade students worked in small groups on coding in their PLTW class with Mr. Madden. Students were tasked with writing code to get "Rosie" from a specific starting point back to her dog house.

The Hamilton Science Bowl Academic team is made of 4th and 5th grade students and is guided by Mrs. Burkett. The science bowl experiment was to extract banana DNA. They also extracted strawberry DNA just for fun. The standards used in science bowl 2020 are Life Sciences and Cellular Biology.

Hamilton students held a Thanksgiving Food Drive. They collected 820 pounds of food, which was donated to the Lake Station food pantry!

Hamilton Spell Bowl Team Winners
Hamilton Spell Bowl Team Winners
Hamilton's Spell Bowl team was the highest scoring team in any division at the Merrillville competition this year and they scored 4th place overall in the state of Indiana! Great job Hamilton Spell Bowl Team!!!
Kindergarten STEAM Day
Kindergarten STEAM Day
Kindergarten students visited STEAM stations with an outdoor activities theme. Challenges were: 1) Design boats that could hold 20 counters using only popsicle sticks and tin foil. 2) Construct the tallest tower out of cups 3) Build a tent out of toothpicks and marshmallows for a model and then a larger version using Kinex. 4) Design a map of what they'd see on a hike outside.
